Adarsh Chithra Katha

Just Like Amar Chithra katha, Adarsh chithra katha also used Indian Mythology and History as Its theme. The art is lovely, though it does not come anywhere as beautiful as in Amar Chithra katha. the Most striking of course is the Cover art in these Comics. These Comics were published mainly in the early 1980s.
All comics shown in This blog are from my Collection.

Chandamama

Along with Comics I grew up reading this wonderful magazine. It is a Classic Children's Magazine Which is one of the Longest running Monthly in India.Originally Chandamama was started in Telugu By Chakrapani.

Chandamama Magazine Included short stories, Moral Stories, Pictorial Stories and Serial Installments of Stories mainly from Hindu Mythology like mahabharatha and Ramayana.

The Greatest Artist of Chandamama Of course was Shanker . His art in The Vikramaditya and Betal Stories was Immortal and continues to this day. Sri Sanker himself is not sure when he Created that Fabulous Art for The Betal and Vikramaditya series."Somewhere in The sixties" was what he said in an Interview. He along with Chitra were The mainstays in Art of this Great magazine.Razi was another Fine artist who worked for this Magazine.

Chandamama was Published in Various Regional Languages also like Tamil, malayalam,Hindi Etc.It is still in Force, Albeit looking a weak Imitation of the earlier ones.

All comics and Magazines shown in this  Blog are part of my Collection.
